TeX Cookbook

This document is meant to help new users of TeX, the typesetting system designed by Donald Knuth. It presents the material in a "cookbook" format. Each table consists of two columns. The first column shows you what you want to appear on the final typeset page. The second column shows you what you have to type in TeX to produce that. Sometimes there is a third column with additional notes.

The Cookbook refers to a few TeX macros that are not part of plain TeX.
